Calculators for reformer studio owners

Two free tools that run the arithmetic every reformer owner does on the back of a class roster.

Reformer studios live inside two constraints that never move: the number of carriages in the room and the hours those carriages can safely run before wear parts need changing. Almost every operating decision, from an added mid morning class to a cancellation fee, is really an argument about one of those two numbers.

These calculators put figures on both. Neither asks for an email, both start with realistic defaults for a US boutique studio, and you can change every input to match your own room, your own price per spot and your own class volume.

Why the carriage arithmetic is open to everyone

Every reformer owner already runs these sums, usually in the margin of a printed roster or on the back of a spring order. You count the unsold carriages in Tuesday at nine, multiply by something close to your blended rate per spot, and stop when the number starts to sting. Asking you to hand over an email before you can do that same multiplication would be a strange way to earn your attention, so neither calculator asks for one.

They are worth having on their own. The annual figure for unsold carriage spots is the number to bring to a lease renewal or to the conversation about whether a second mid morning class earns its instructor hour. The use hours per carriage figure is what you hand your equipment supplier when a spring set did not last the way the guidance said it would, and what tells you whether your weekly footbar and rope check needs to be somebody's paid job. None of that depends on buying automatic refill or a sub bench from us.

Both numbers describe your room

Whatever these two calculators just told you about unsold carriage spots and use hours per carriage, the figures describe capacity you already own and apparatus you are already maintaining. If you want to see what per apparatus booking does to them, we will set up your carriage count, your class types and your cancellation deadline and run a week of your grid in front of you.
